Print SubmissionPrints should be submitted by 6:45 pm to allow time for sorting and paperwork. The print committee may refuse to accept entries submitted after the meeting has been called to order. Absentee members may have another member submit prints for them. The print program is comprised of two Divisions, “Monochrome” and “Color”, each containing three Categories, “Assignment”, “Open” and “Non-Judged”. Each print maker may submit a maximum of three (3) prints per Division. Each Division may contain no more than two (2) prints from either the “Assignment”, “Open” or the “Non-Judged” Categories (e.g. two “Assignment” + one “Open”, or one “Assignment” + two “Open” per Division). Any slide previously entered into a monthly competition may be made into a print and become eligible for the monthly print competition. In total, six (6) prints may be submitted per print competition. Prints submitted in the Non-Judged category may be resubmitted in the Assignment or Open categories at a later time. Prints must be neatly mounted and/or matted (but not framed). The actual image area must be at least 64 square inches and be mounted onto a matte board that must range in size from 8”x10” to 16”x20”. Prints are to be marked in back at the top of the matte with the maker’s name, print title, Division (Monochrome or Color), Category (Assignment, Open or Non-Judged) and an arrow indicating the top of the print. The two print Divisions (Monochrome and Color) will be judged for each of the two Categories (Assignment and Open). Each print will be judged by three club members (or an outside judge) and can be awarded up to 27 points total (9 points per judge). A judge presenting his/her own print in competitions will enter a zero (0) when their work is shown. The scorekeeper will then enter an average of the other two judge’s scores in place of the competing judge’s score. Any print entered during the competition year (May through April of the following year) will be eligible for the End-of-the-Year competition in June. For this competition, each member is allowed to enter three prints per Division (Monochrome or Color), two of which may be from either the Assignment or Open Categories. Questions about the Assignments may be directed to the Print Director |
